Wash Wave Order Notifications — text message and automated phone call updates for your laundry order

This page describes the Wash Wave Order Notifications program operated by WASH WAVE INC., doing business as Wash Wave Laundromat, a fully attended retail laundromat business serving Waterbury, Connecticut since 2023. The program sends purely transactional SMS text messages and/or automated phone calls to customers who have used our wash and fold service, so they know when their laundry is ready to be picked up at our store. Automated phone calls are placed by an AI voice agent and identify themselves as automated at the start of every call.

Business Information

The SMS program is operated by the following business:

Important: Wash Wave Laundromat does not currently offer pickup or delivery service. Customers drop off their laundry in person at our store and return to collect it once it is ready. SMS text messages and automated phone calls tell customers when to return to the store.

1. How Customers Opt In

Customers can opt in to receive SMS text messages and/or automated phone calls only in person at our store. There is no online or website-based opt-in path; consent is collected only at the register.

When a customer drops off their laundry at the register:

  1. Our clerk verbally asks if the customer would like to receive text message and/or automated phone call updates about their order, including when it is ready for in-store pickup.
  2. The clerk shows the customer a clearly displayed sign at the register (image below) that contains all required disclosures in writing before the customer provides their phone number.
  3. If the customer verbally agrees, the clerk enters the customer's name and mobile phone number into our point-of-sale system, along with a flag indicating verbal consent was obtained.
  4. The customer then receives transactional SMS messages and/or automated phone calls tied to that specific order — and only that order.

2. In-Store Opt-In Sign

The sign below is publicly visible at the register inside our store at 720 Wolcott Street, Waterbury, CT. It is shown to every customer before they provide their phone number.

Ready for in-store pickup

[WASH WAVE LAUNDROMAT] Hello John, your laundry order #12345 is READY for pickup. Total: $15.50. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.

Uncollected order reminder

[WASH WAVE LAUNDROMAT] Hello, this is a reminder that your laundry order #12345 has been ready for pickup for 3 days. Please stop by to collect it. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.

5. Sample Automated Phone Call Script

Automated phone calls follow this script. Each call begins with an AI-disclosure statement and is limited to transactional order information:

"Hello, this is an automated call from Wash Wave Laundromat. Your wash and fold order #12345 is ready for pickup at our store at 720 Wolcott Street in Waterbury. This is an automated message — please call us back at (203) 527-4647 if you have any questions. To stop future automated calls, please call us at the same number, or tell us at the register. Thank you."

About our automated calls: Calls are placed by an AI voice agent. The opening line always identifies the call as automated and originating from Wash Wave Laundromat, in compliance with FCC rules for automated voice communications. Calls are placed only during reasonable hours (no earlier than 8:00 AM and no later than 9:00 PM local time). Numbers on our internal do-not-call list are never called.
